Slippery conditions that may cause you to lose your balance and fall
Heavy materials – wet materials can be very heavy
What TO DO After A Fire
Find a safe place to stay. No matter the amount of damage, you likely will not want to stay in your own home.
Contact your insurance agent.
Take care of your pets.
Limit interior movement to prevent soot from being embedded in your carpets or upholstery.
Place clean towels or old linens on top of rugs, upholstery or carpet.
If the electricity has been turned off, don’t forget to empty the refrigerator and freezer (remember to prop the doors open once emptied).
Once you are able return to your home, don’t forget to change the HVAC filter.
What NOT To Do After A Fire
Do not enter your home until you are given permission that it is safe.
Do not turn on gas, water or electric utilities until a professional has deemed them safe.
Do not start or move your vehicle if it has been damaged.
Do not try to clean any of the smoke or soot damage yourself without contacting us.
Do not attempt to clean any electrical appliances that may have been close to fire, heat or water without consulting an authorized repair service.
Do not send garments to an ordinary dry cleaner. Improper cleaning may set smoke odor.
